Hace poco, cometí el gravísimo error de no hacer la pregunta mas importante que un profesional debe hacer a su cliente: ¿Quien va a autorizar mi trabajo?. Ni siquiera pregunté ¿Ya lo vió el dueño, que dijo?.
¿Porque lo hice? Inocencia, confianza, prisa y otras emociones poco profesionales. El punto es que cuando la respuesta es “mi jefe”, “el dueño” o “mi socio” la cosa es muuuuy diferente. Resulta que despues de mas de 6 semanas de trabajo, el proyecto fue presentado al dueño de la empresa y simplemente no era lo que esperaba. Afortunadamente, trataba con personas muy decentes y comprensivas, que no solo cedieron en algunos aspectos, además me dieron el tiempo para hacer todos los ajustes que se requerian.
Muchos podemos pensar “Es culpa de ellos, me dijeron que iba bien”, pero la realidad es que antes de empezar a trabajar debemos poner en claro todo y preguntar hasta las cosas mas obvias. Culpar al encargado de mercadotecnia o al publicista solo nos hará quedar mal. Debemos recordar que el dueño o fundador de una empresa piensa muy distinto a sus empleados, para el dueño, su negocio es como un hijo al que debe proteger de todo, la mayoría de los empleados tienen apenas unos años en la empresa y no les costó crearla.
Perdí mucho tiempo y en consecuencia dinero, pero les puedo asegurar que no me volverá a pasar.
